Shri. Parsharam Raychand Pagaria,
a visionary philanthropist established the P. R. High
School Society (PRHS), Dharangaon in 4th February, 1914
and started P. R. High School. The society started Arts,
Commerce and Science College at Dharangaon in 1971(Arts
and Commerce College in June-1971 and Science college in
2006).It is a leading institution functioning in the
process of extension of higher education since its
inception. The institution aims to protect and nurture
the life of rich sustaining composite culture as well as
grand historic tradition. Since beginning, the college
has tried its best to lay emphasis on the education of
the downtrodden, and students coming from Rural area.
The college is located on a 13-acre campus at the
outskirts of city Dharangaon.
The college is affiliated the North Maharashtra
University. The college is recognized under section 2(f)
and 12 (B) of the UGC Act 1956. It was really a
difficult task to establish higher educational institute
in the rural area like Dharangaon in 1971. However, the
college has developed and retained its prestigious
position. During more than five decades of its
existence, college has rendered pioneering services in
the area of higher education in the rural surrounding.
Before inception of the college, students have to go to
cities for higher education. Owing to this, wards of
farmers and labourers were denied the opportunity of
higher education due to poverty. The college has
facilitated such aspirants to pursue higher education.
The institution has grown up to include several UG and
PG courses in Arts, Science and Commerce, BCA, Career
Oriented Courses and has taken a leap into the future by
offering research facilities as well. Strong emphasis is
placed on students’ participation in various
co-curricular activities that helps students discover
their talent.
The institution is proud for its contribution to the
society in the field of knowledge, education and
intellectual services. Alumni of this institution are
providing various services to the society including
education in various parts of the state.
In line with the National Education Policy 2020, we
follow a student-centric, innovative, inter-disciplinary
and inclusive pedagogy. We have received B-grade in the
third cycle of the NAAC accreditation process. |
