Greetings from the Department of English. |
|
|
The history of the Department of
English begins along with the inception of the college
(1971), since the study of the English language was
mandatory for students of all degree programmes.
The Department has been catering to the needs of the
students from rural area. At present, the department
runs the academic programmes at B.A. English, under
leadership of HoD Prof. P. S. Borse.
In accordance with the recommendations of NEP 2020,
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra
University, Jalgaon (our affiliating university) has
revised the English syllabus. Earlier, English was
taught as a compulsory language at the undergraduate
level across all three faculties. Following the new
structure, Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) taught to
all streams at UG level from academic year 2024-25.
The Department is equipped with a language laboratory
and language learning software. A Certificate Course is
conducted, and interested students enroll. The
Department also organizes workshop focusing on English
language skills.The excellent infrastructure and
well-equipped laboratories offer conducive learning
environment to the aspirants.
The department has established links and MOUs with
various organizations; this provides various OJT /
Internship options to the students.
One permanent faculty member and two CHB members are
actively involved in teaching, learning, research and
have shown major share in publications. They have
authored books on curriculum of B.A. (English) of
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra
University, Jalgaon.
Enthusiastic faculty members provide an encouraging
environment to develop the intellectual capacity,
critical thinking and creativity. |
