DEPARTMENT
Greetings from the Department of Chemistry. |

|
Chemistry, the
science that deals with the properties, composition, and
structure of substances (defined as elements and
compounds), the transformations they undergo, and the
energy that is released or absorbed during these
processes.
The Department of Chemistry is the largest department in
the college and came into existence since the beginning
of science faculty in 2006 at Arts, Commerce and Science
College, Dharangaon. It started functioning on a
self-financing basis, under the leadership of HoD Prof.
Sandeep S. Palkhe. The college was awarded with
financial grants in 2009 and department accordingly. The
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra
University, Jalgaon has recognized this department as a
PG department with specialization in Organic Chemistry
in 2023 on a self-financing basis.
The excellent infrastructure and well-equipped
laboratories offer a conducive learning environment to
the aspirants. The department has established links and
MOUs with several industrial organizations; this
provides various OJT / Internship options to the
students.
Five permanent faculty members and two contractual
members are actively involved in teaching, learning,
research and have shown major share in publications.
They have authored books on curriculum of B.Sc. of
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra
University, Jalgaon. Enthusiastic faculty members
provide an encouraging environment to develop
intellectual capacity, critical thinking, and
creativity. |

PROGRAMMES OFFERED
The Department runs three years B.Sc. Degree (NEP-2020
pattern) with six semesters, two years M.Sc. degree
(NEP-2020 pattern) course spread over four semesters.
